GOV’T TO PRIORITIZE THE NEEDS OF SECURITY SERVICES

 

The Director of Immigration flanked by his two Deputies

The President, John Dramani Mahama, has assured the nation that the needs of the Security Services would be prioritized in other to place them on a favorable position to carry out their duty of confronting and defeating crime including cross border crime, narcotics, child trafficking and terrorism.
He said the government is confident that the Security Services would join forces to secure peace and stability of the nation before, during and after the election as the nation prepares to go to the polls.

The president made these known when he delivered the State of the Nation address in parliament which is in accordance with the Article 63 of the Constitution of Ghana.

Some of the areas he touched on included National security, Education, Health, Power and Energy, Infrastructure, Corruption, Sports, Election and Agriculture.

Present at the ceremony were the Director of Immigration, Felix Yaw Sarpong, His Deputies in-charge of Finance & Administration, Judith Dzokoto- Lomoh, and Legal Baaba Asare as well as other heads of security agencies including the Police, Armed Forces, Fire, Prisons and GRA.
